Movement: Spatial reverse

Digital Short Film for AnOther Magazine

MOVEment is a series of short films uniting fashion dance and cinema. AnOther Magazine invited seven of the biggest names in fashion to create bespoke costumes for seven specially choreographed performances, which were then interpreted for the screen by seven pioneering directors.

One of the seven films, Spatial Reverse, was directed by Warren Du Preez and Nick Thorton-Jones and features two of Iris Van Herpen’s beautiful creations. The film depicts an otherworldly performance as the model - Carys Staton - twists and contorts through thin air, in moves coordinated by acclaimed choreographer Russel Maliphant.

Laura Jean Healey was hired as a Digital High Speed Technician, operating the Phantom Flex Camera and assisting the Director of Photography, Magni Agustsson in achieving Warren and Nick’s vision.

The seven films premiered at Sadler’s Wells’ Lilian Baylis studio on 18th April and were release online on 20th April 2015.
